Wick
joined the firm after graduating from law school, and has since
been continuously engaged in the practice of law. His practice
is, and always has been,
limited to civil litigation. He has, however, litigated a wide
variety of disputes. By way of example, Wick has trial experience
with: commercial litigation; partnership/business dissolutions;
medical, legal and design professional malpractice actions; contract
claims; employment litigation; asbestos litigation; personal injury
and wrongful death claims; arson and fire claims; toxic tort claims;
products liability actions; insurance coverage disputes; crop
loss/insurance claims; lender liability actions; property tax
disputes; and will contests. Wick also has substantial appellate
experience, including several cases that have resulted in landmark
rulings. He is also frequently involved with the mediation or
arbitration of disputes.
Wick
is licensed and admitted to appear before all state and federal
courts in North Dakota and Minnesota. He has also been admitted
to practice before the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals (U.S.).
Since
1990, Wick has been certified as a Civil Trial Specialist by the
National Board of Trial Advocacy and the Minnesota State Bar Association.
Wick is a member of many professional associations. He is also
extensively involved as a volunteer with many nonprofit organizations,
particularly in the field of conservation. Wick currently serves
as Chair of the Board of Trustees of the North Dakota Chapter
of The Audubon Society. He has also served on the Boards of Ducks
Unlimited, Inc.; Ducks Unlimited Canada; Wetlands America Trust,
Inc; and The North Dakota Chapter of The Nature Conservancy.
