Kim
was born in Fargo, North Dakota, on May 26, 1954. His education
includes a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science received
from the North Dakota State University in 1976, and a Juris Doctor
degree received from the University of North Dakota in 1979.
Since graduating from law school, Kim has continuously engaged in the private practice of law. He is a shareholder in the firm concentrating in all areas of personal injury law including auto accidents, wrongful death, products liability, spinal cord injury, brain injury and insurance litigation.
Kim is licensed and admitted to appear before all state and federal courts in North Dakota and Minnesota.
He has been certified as a Civil Trial Specialist by the National Board of Trial Advocacy and is a member of many professional associations including the North Dakota Trial Lawyers Association and Cass County Bar Association, both of which he has served as the president. He is also a member of the State Bar Association of North Dakota, the Minnesota State Bar Association and the Minnesota Trial Lawyers Association.
Kim is actively involved as a volunteer with many organizations, both professional and nonprofessional. He was a member of the Pattern Jury Instruction Commission for the State of North Dakota. He remains an active member of Inquiry Committee Southeast which investigates ethical complaints against lawyers.
Kim was selected as Great Plains Super Lawyer 2009.
